Fountain For Humanity is a registered non-profit organisation based in South Africa, providing psychology-informed therapeutic counselling and emotional support to vulnerable adults, children and elders.
We support individuals and communities facing emotional distress, trauma and life challenges by offering a safe, compassionate and confidential space where healing can begin. Our work is grounded in ethical psychology practice, therapeutic counselling principles and the belief that access to care should be available to everyone.
Our approach is inspired by the principles of the historic Bimaristans, centres of healing that placed dignity, compassion and holistic care at the heart of support.
As the fountain stood at the heart of the Bimaristan, offering calm and restoration, our services are designed to allow care to flow gently and consistently to those who seek support.
Our counsellors bring over 40 years of combined professional experience in psychology, therapeutic counselling and community based care, allowing us to respond with sensitivity, cultural awareness and clinical insight. Our services are delivered online, enabling us to reach people across South Africa through our chapters in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. In times of crisis or disaster, we work alongside humanitarian organisations to provide therapeutic counselling and emotional support, both locally and beyond South Africa.
The Wellkeepers
Tending the well of healing
Our counsellors are known collectively as The Wellkeepers. They are South African professionals with extensive experience in therapeutic counselling and emotional support. Working as a collective allows them to offer care that is consistent, confidential and grounded in an understanding of the communities they serve. The Wellkeepers create a calm, supportive space where healing can unfold at a natural pace, guided by compassion, dignity and respect.
